I just want to say that Pioneer One is on of the best dramas I’ve ever seen. Where have you been all my life?

This was great! I know one of the founders of Fandor, and will send this show to his attention.

First off- I discovered this show by accident (looking for new Sci-Fi things to watch) and I LOVE it. Plus the whole concept of free TV, and donation per liking- great.

Now 2 things:
- The donation link here is broken (leads to http://www.pioneerone.tv/season2/vodo.net/pioneerone instead of http://vodo.net/pioneerone).
- Coming to donate, I saw “$89,346 out of $100,000″. I was wondering what’s that “donation target” and what does it mean. Will production start when target is reached? Does reaching the target means season 2 will see light for sure? Don’t get me wrong- I still donated the full $25, but maybe being more transparent about it would make more people donate.

Anyway- keep up the great work! Can’t wait for season 2 to start rolling out.

Most impressive! Nicely written and performed dialog — as others have commented, the “documentary camera” style should be canned. (Its actually more enjoyable listened to — like a radio program – than watched (it makes me seasick )

The “Stanislav Petrov” story is pretty much true (ocurring 26 September 1983); it was in the middle of a kgb-inspired period of belief the US was about to attack based on inverse wishful thinking (they worked themselves into believing the US was about to attack; seizing on the upcoming “Able Archer” NATO exercises as proof.) The ‘attack event’ wasn’t the sun rising, but bad Soviet infrared satellite sensors. Petrov was in the control room precisely because they didn’t trust their own sensors. But the gist of the story is correct. (The ‘sun coming up’ is probably misremembering a story about NORAD, which put the US on alert when was first activated back in the 1950s — it saw moonrise as a Russian attack.)

He only shoots one of them, leaving the first one alive, presumably for later interrogation. He’d already dispatched the first and doesn’t have the time to properly subdue the second one before the rest escape. He says later with Taylor that the bodies were extracted, implying that there were more commandos in the base at that time. Possibly with an alternate escape route. This was elaborated on a little bit in the script but was ultimately cut for clarity’s sake.

yes it is a great story and as far goverment and corprate cover ups go i have design for a machine that can cure all cancers, viral and bacterial diseases but cant find any intrest as the pharmaceutical industry have away of scaring wouldbe investment and research companies off as its about money not peoples lives. rant over and cant wait for season 2 hope it wont be to long away
